Snowstorm leads to early dismissals

Today’s late-arriving snowstorm means early dismissals for borough schoolchildren.

Irving School students will go home at 12:30 a.m. Bartle School students will leave at noon. Middle School students will go home at 12:39 a.m. and Highland Park High School students will leave at 12:22 a.m. Pre-K students will be dismissed at 10:55 a.m.

Wednesday is snow day for borough students

Highland Park schools will be closed Wednesday, Feb. 10, in anticipation of a major snowstorm. The announcement was made this evening from the office of Dr. Frances Wood, Superintendent of Schools.

Snow delays borough school openings

Highland Park schools will open two hours later this morning because of snow, district officials have announced.

In an e-mail alert distributed Wednesday, Feb. 3, the two-hour delay was announced for schools throughout the district.

Concert to raise funds for Haitian relief

Borough food pantry seeks donations of Thanksgiving-themed food items

The Highland Park Food Pantry asks for donations of non-perishable, Thanksgiving-themed food items for distribution to needy families.

Canned foods such as cranberries, sweet potatoes, and pumpkin-pie filling are examples of non-perishable Thanksgiving items. Donations may be left at marked bins in Borough Hall, Stop N’ Shop, the Senior/Youth Center, Saiff Drugs, and Anna’s Health Food.

Farmer’s Market lies fallow after tomorrow

Tomorrow will mark the last Farmer’s Market of the year.

Now in its 19th year, the Highland Park Farmer’s Market will lie fallow for the rest of the year and the first few months of 2010. The popular local food market will return on Friday, June 18.
